Let’s get into the Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2018 Haul!

NARS Wanted Cheek Palette in 1

DO YOU THINK I NEED ANOTHER BLUSH? NOPE. But, I was obsessed by the way this palette looked in other Instagram photos and it looked: delicious! Can I say that? As a brand, NARS always does it for me and the way the colours are always so blendable I knew that this Cheek Palette wouldn’t let me down!

Dior Dior Addict Lacquer Plump in “Pretty”

When I saw that Dior came out with this glossy luxurious plumper, I thought that I had finally found the perfect gloss (aside from my favourite NARS light pink gloss in ‘Turkish Delight’ which is a Kim Kardashian fave – YES, I said it). It feels like silk when you put it on and at first I loved it and thought it was a buildable colour that could get more vibrant with application.

There are a few very important quality issues I need to stress with the Dior Addict Lacquer Plump.

More of a ‘stain’ than a gloss – I need to preface that this is more of a stain than a full fledged gloss. Usually, I can swipe lip gloss and go but I found that my lines were crazy and smeared outside the lip line.
The colour in the tube did NOT match the outcome on my lips. You can see that the colour in the tube is pinky, however – the blue undertones allowed this to change into a more redish/berry tone which is not what I was going for this spring 2018.
Since it’s a lacquer, it’s not a true gloss. Since it did feel so great going on I kept reapplying almost every hour (which is too much in my opinion).

Again, being Dior and at $43 CAD a pop – I expected more.

Benefit Gimme Brow + Volumizing Eyebrow Gel (purchased in #3)

If you are as obsessed with this eyebrow gel as I am, you’ll know that Benefit pulled the original formula from the shelves. Apparently people were using the Benefit Gimme brow as mascara and was causing irritation.

The Benefit Gimme Brow + does go on smoother than the original but that could be because it’s newly out of the package. I’m still loving this product when I’m in a huge rush. I will touch up with an eyebrow pencil of my choice (Usually Anastasia brow definer in ‘Taupe’).

Smashbox Photo Finish Primerizer

If you follow me on Instagram (@Beautyreviewsca) You’ll have seen that I’m really into this primer. It has hylauronic acid in it which is an amazing moisturizer and will continue to give you an all day dewy glow.

I especially like the Smashbox Photo Finish Primerizer under a foundation such as the Estee Lauder Doublewear which is more of a medium coverage. This allows my skin to remain hydrated under a heavier foundation.

Too Faced Natural Nudes Lipstick in ‘Birthday Suit’ – I was SO excited for the Too Faced Natural Nudes line to come out. I am a big fan of natural looks and everyday hues. The lipstick has cocoa butter in it so I instantly knew it would be moisturizing but opaque.

This is one of my new favourite go to colours that I love to top with a lip gloss. I’m hoping to get more of the Natural Nudes collection lipsticks because they move with your lips and are so easy to apply.

If you read this entire post I think you can now guess which of the products I had no choice but to return to Sephora. Drum roll please!!!

It was the Dior Dior Addict Lacquer Plump. I may rethink this and re-purchase it in the glittery shades which make for a perfect topper for more opaque lipsticks. For the price, I just wasn’t into the formula but I still love Dior lipsticks as a whole.
